Novalja - where the fun never stops

Located in the north-western part of the island of Pag, Novalja is the main port and tourist center of the island.

Although because of the beautiful beaches it thrived as a destination for family tourism, Novalja today is famous as a destination for young people in search of unbridled summer fun.

The Zrće beach, which is the epicenter of this new trend, is also called the "Croatian Ibiza" and the fun never ends there.

Guests in Novalja can choose between accommodation in modern rooms and apartments in private houses, in hotels, hostels or camp site Straško - one of the largest camp sites with best facilities in the Adriatic.

The ancient history of Novalja can be read in numerous archaeological artefacts, with particular significance of the ancient Roman aqueduct dating to the first century BC, the only one of its kind on the Croatian Adriatic coast. The aqueduct is entirely carved in stone by human hand, with a length of 1,042 meters and with an average width of about 60 cm.

Modern-day Novalja is a tourist city with an urban infrastructure that can successfully accommodate a large increase in population during the summer months that goes from 3,500 to more than 40,000. The long promenade along the sea that stretches along the entire town becomes full of tourists, enjoying walking, drinking or good food.

Three large supermarkets are located at the entrance of the town, and inside the town you will find all the necessary shops, a department store, a post office and a farmer's market.

The nightlife in Novalja offers various options - ranging from numerous cafés, bars and restaurants for every taste and every pocket to the always crowded lounge bar Cocomo. However, the main evening entertainment takes place on the nearby Zrće, which can be either reached by car, well-organized public transport (bus) or a 20 minute walk.

Zrće Beach
The beach Zrće is the most popular beach in Novalja, but in Croatia as well. Around the world it has become a synonym for summer fun and one of the biggest party zones in Europe. Since 2003 it holds the Blue Flag. The beach is pebbly and can accommodate several thousand sun seekers, also has a large parking lot. In addition to swimming, there is also the possibility of pursuing different sport, recreation and entertainment activities, such as bungee jumping, jet-skiing, parasailing, Cageball or wake-boarding.

The highlights of this beach are its club Papaya, Aquarius, Kalypso and Noa, where the fun lasts non-stop, while the music is played by world`s most famous DJs, for whom performances on Zrće have become a matter of prestige and sign of excellence.
