A picturesque village in the middle of the rocky landscape of the island

Metajna is located in the north-eastern part of the island of Pag, in the bay of the same name, 12 km from Novalja - the center of the northern part of the island.

The main economic activities in the past in this area - agriculture and fishing - have recently been effectively replaced by tourism.

This small village will surprise you with its picturesque character.

In Metajna the stoniness of the landscape on the island is augmented by the scents of aromatic herbs - the staple food for numerous sheep that graze freely during the summer months. You will remember Metajna for its incomparable beaches - beaches of Ručica and Beritnica.

The pebble beach Ručica offers a view of the town of Pag. You can reach it through the Kanjon - a site of fascinating contrast between the green vegetation surrounded by the rocky hills. The irresistible scents of herbs and the sea, the sun shining and the warm breeze will complete the feeling of being right in the heart of the Mediterranean.

For the braver ones, who are ready to spend another 15 minutes walking further down the picturesque Kanjon, will be rewarded because they will have a chance to enjoy the other beautiful beach - Beritnica. On Beritnica nature has placed three large rocks into the shallow sea - this nature's installation is an unforgettable sight.

Just above the beach there is the famous climbing cliff Stogaj - one of the most spectacular stone towers on the Adriatic coast, whose position and appearance simply invite you to rise to its top.

Gourmets will particularly appreciate Metajna - Pag cheese and lamb, grapes and figs, fish and seafood freshly caught - you will not miss anything.
